作品评审方式和评判标准?
来自设计或者相关学科的专家或者独立评委会评审所有递交的作品. 这些评判标准会反映一些适合所有递交设计的标准. Spark奖鼓励设计师去热切追求与达到那些能帮助世界的设计目标. 设计师可能不达到以下的所有评判标准, 但是能够将其中某一点完成得很好, 就可以被认为是很成功了.

1. Inventiveness & Innovation: Does the design enhance the human experience in a tangible new way?
1. 独创性与革新性: 设计是否能在切实可行的新方式上改进人们的体验?

2. Sustainability: How environmentally sustainable is the design, from manufacture through packaging to use and final disposal?
2. 可持续性: 从生产制造到包装, 再到使用以及最后的废弃品处理过程中评价设计在的可持续性。

3. Elegance & Beauty: Is the design attractive?
3. 优雅与美观: 设计是否具有吸引力?

4. Suitability to Purpose: How well does the design perform its function? Is it efficient, economical—essential?

5. Durability: Is the design's lifespan appropriate to its usage and good sustainable practice?
5. 持久性: 产品的使用寿命是否能与其用途和良好的可持续使用相匹配?

6. Discovery & Implementation: What was the design strategy—how was progress measured—was the process innovative or multi-disciplinary? Did the design fulfill its goals?

7. Safety & Ergonomics: Is it safe and user-friendly? How well does the design suit a wide (and appropriate) range of users?

8. Expressiveness: Does the design fit the use (and user) naturally and easily, with a low-learning curve?

9. Personal Connection: Does the design help create feeling? Joy, delight, pleasure, inspiration or reverence?

奖项设置：
入围决赛者将获得“星火国际设计奖入围决赛证书”。

设金、银、铜奖以及星火大奖（星火国际设计奖最高荣誉）四个奖项。
星火大奖：获奖者将得到金箔制作的“星火大奖证书”以及“星火大奖奖座”金奖、银奖和铜奖：获奖者将分别得到“星火国际设计奖金奖证书” “星火国际设计奖银奖证书”和“星火国际设计奖铜奖证书”。

星火国际设计奖对以上各等级获奖作品的数量和类别不作限制，这样做的目的，在于充分尊重每一个设计作品的价值，以及执行评委公正的意见，评委会在两个阶段对每一个作品进行投票，一切依据得票数量最后决定获奖结果。以2008年为例，共有325人入围， 17 个“星火大奖”获奖作品, 16个金奖作品, 26 个银奖作品以及26个铜奖作品，2007年大概一致。
